Humpback Whale, acrobatics and songstress

Humpback Whale, acrobatics and songstress

The Humpback whales of the North Atlantic have returned.

The last week of January saw the first big wave of their annual migration. Numerous sightings were made on the surface between North West Point, Grace Bay and Pine Cay. Epic! The season is in full swing and the whales should provide us with encounters right until April.

Many charters on Providenciales will provide you with the opportunity to view these magnificent creatures.  You realize how luck you are to see such whales.  They are the most vocal singers and are coming down to our area of the world to breed.  They also are very acrobatic and feature various arcs, lobtailing, and breacing, either for social interaction, to remove parasites or just to have some fun.  You would if you could!Lobtailing, a way of communication for Humpbacks

Just ask us for more information and we can put you incontact with some of the best charter whale watching companies around!

When you see these gentle whales, you will truly be changed.  There are so many natural events that will shape your vacation in ways that you can not begin to imagine.  The Turks & Caicos is very proud to NOT have a captive park to view the wildlife of the islands.  When you see something like this you feel humbled, fortunate, and like you have won the lottery!

We also have a wild pod of dolphins that while the TCI has a warden and a ‘jojo project‘ protecting them, they live freely around Providenciales, and if you are lucky you will be able to see him and his family..  More on that later ;-)
